Mar de Cristal has excellent safe beaches, a tiled promenade and a marina. The Mar Menor is indeed crystal clear and is a mecca for all kinds of watersports, sailing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, scuba or just swimming.

Golf is never far away here with the World famous La Manga Club being just a 5 minute drive, the 3 courses of Villamartin, Campoamor and Las Ramblas 30 minutes north and no less than 10 others either being built or planned for the area!

There are several protected areas within a short drive or cycle ride, Calblanque and Salinas bird sanctuary being 5 minutes away, and the Sierra de Carrascoy regional park just 25 minutes.

The La Manga Strip is a short drive and has a host of restaurants and bars and the nearby fishing village of Cabo de Palos boasts some of the best fish restaurants in the area.

Alicante, the regional capital of Murcia is about 50 minutes drive and has a host of fine buildings and shops. A 15 minute drive south is the old port city of Cartagena which has a good array of shops and old buildings even a Roman Amphitheatre.
